Milt Heinrich

I have been an artist and an art educator for 40 years and have created 37 large-scale sculpture projects for public places and private corporations. Wall reliefs at Omaha’s Eppley Airfield and the Iowa State Judicial Building in Des Monies are two of the most public pieces I have had the privilege to create.

As an educator, I spent the majority of my professional career as a Professor of Art and Art Education at Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. Having retired from full time teaching, I actively continue to paint in my studio.

I like to arrange various art elements in juxtaposition to each other, flat colors against highly textured areas, or expressive strokes against mechanical hard edges.  I also enjoy depicting works that contain spatial ambiguity. This is a direct reflection of my interest in Cubist work.  I do not limit myself to a particular subject area, but rather use my visual vocabulary as method of showing others the world around me.
